We love fire alarms!!!
Right now I can't think of anything more annoying than what happened at our house last night at 3:20 am. I was awakened by the high pitched beeping of the lovely fire alarm all through out my house. Funny thing my firefighter husband was at work. So I jumped out of bed, dialed 911, and smelled around the cold house a bit. As I talked to the 911 operator with my shakey voice all I found was three kids sound asleep, no smoke, and luckilly my bra and clothes before the fire department arrived. Ha ha! I waited outside and when they pulled up one of the firefighters asked ,"What's going on? Haven't we been here a couple of times?" Yes they had because Kenzie pushed the fire button on the alarm pad.....twice! How embarrassing! Kelly is a firefighter and I have heard his stories about the dumb calls they have to go on. Here we are on our third time calling the fire department to rescue us....NOT! So they took a look around and then tried to figure out how to shut it all off on the alarm pad. To make a long story short we got ahold of the alarm company, and after messing with everything I decided to go take a quick look at the smoke detectors. The firefighters had already checked them, but I thought it was worth a try. Sure enough the detector in my room was blinking red, and all they had to do was take it off and change the battery. I was so grateful they came to help because who knows what I could have done myself. Probably just sit and cry! Well I guess it's time to change our batteries in all of the smoke dectors. So to anyone who reads this make sure you change yours about every six months (Kelly Said) or you could be awakened by the most horrible screaching you might have ever heard. I'm glad I'm not deaf, but I sure was beginning to wonder. Oh, one more annoying thing I can think of is that I'm growing right out of all my clothes. GREAT! Four weeks from tomorrow!

How funny, but not! Glad you were able to fix the problem and thanks for the tip!
.YEA FOR, FOUR MORE WEEKS.
omg!! That was super funny and I am sure annoying too! Your right that happened to me at my old house and it was the batteries.. the noise for the batteries should be a different nice alerting sound not a screeching! yipppeee for four more weeks!
kara. this made me laugh, but not until i read the whole post!!!
this happened to me, not in the night. through out the day. couldn't figure which one was chirping, yanked out each one, still chirping...then when brandon got home, he went right to the chirp. the carbon monoxide detector battery was low.
that is so exciting 4 more weeks!
You make me laugh. Ours chirp and I thought that was annoying, glad it's not as loud as yours. I hate those last four weeks when nothing fits but you hate to buy something for another month! I usually buy one or two shirts just to make me feel better.
The chirping is the worst!! Yeah for 4 more weeks!! I think that I wore the same thing almost everyday for the last couple weeks of pregnancy with Asher. I was NOT going to buy anymore clothes! I had outgrown my XL clothes, what was I going to do after that?!?! :)
hee hee, that is so funny! The same thing happened to us at my moms house, the darn thing kept going off like every 5 minutes we would fix it and then another one in another room would go off. So i feel ya on this one.
hang in there your almost there, I can't wait to see the little peanut.
That's funny - but only because no one was actually hurt! I'm sure that, even though the fire dept gets lots of false alarms, they'd rather get a false alarm than have someone assume it was a defective battery and have people get hurt!
I'm sorry that you're growing out of all your clothes, that stinks. But hooray for only 4 more weeks! I can't wait to see pics of your new baby girl!
You are so not a big momma - you look as amazing as you did with all the rest of your pregnancies - I hope I can follow suit! I think I am going to be in the great LV next weekend - so we need to get together! I'm so glad your techno skills are expanded to blogging - I love your page!
That sounds like quite a fun little experience. Only four weeks, that is great.
ha ha that cracks me up!!!!
